Pattern recognition

Three recent "book reports" by Jane O'Hannigan, age 7:

The Cake:

This story is about a dog. The dog is funny. I like the dog. Go dog!

God Makes Seeds That Grow:

This story is about seeds that grow and don't grow. The seeds are interesting. I like them lots and lots. Go seeds!

The White Hen:

This story is about a white hen. I like the hen. The chicks are funny. Go chicks and hens!

I'd put book reports by Thomas, age 8, here, too, but they aren't as comical. He's been reading Harry Potter books for more than a year now, so his vocabulary and syntax is further along than his sister's.

I do like the way she ends almost every report on an encouraging note, however. Go, Jane!

There is a lot to be said for someone who is positive and to the point.

Those are priceless!

Not only is she positive but she makes a point to push several of the books' best feature ... the humor. I like that in a reviewer. She'll go far. :-)

I love that enthusiasm! Go Jane, indeed!

I love the good cheer that radiates from her writing. Is she always such a sunshiney creature? She must be fun to have around. Kudos to Thomas, though, for immersing himself in the Harry Potter books. They're wonderful reads and I believe that they speak to larger truths about good and evil (even if that wasn't Rowlings intention).
