Jurisprudence and common sense

Cassandra is back in long-form analysis mode, talking about this week's 5-4 Supreme Court decision about the rights of detainees at the American prison on Guantanamo Bay (think of it as Habeas Corpus meets Bad Company).

While perusing Chief Justice John Roberts' thoughtful dissent from the majority opinion in Boumediene v. Bush, Cassandra also addresses the particulars of fear-mongering and rendition. As usual, she turns conventional wisdom on its head with the kind of rueful grace that other pundits wish they had.
