The next time someone says that Americans are alarmingly ignorant about the rest of the world, ask if the same could be said about the British, especially with respect to their knowledge of the United States.
Perhaps the BBC really is no better than NBC (Andrea Michell, people aren't falling for your pretense of journalistic objectivity).

Dumb and Dumber -- just because the Brits may be MORE ignorant doesn't meant that a shocking number of Americans aren't ignorant too. See, for example, today's post on my blog, titled "When voter apathy is a good thing."
