Prayer request

Jane and I were in a serious car accident yesterday morning. Thomas and Cathleen were not with us at the time. I sustained only bruising and some deep lacerations to my left elbow, so I was discharged from the emergency room late yesterday afternoon.

Jane was ejected from my vehicle and suffered head trauma. She is still in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Jane has been mostly unconscious since the accident. We do have some good news in that doctors say there is no damage to her spine. She was also able to squeeze my hand with hers last night. A plastic surgery team stitched up her head wound, but brain swelling remains an issue, so we're not out of the woods. Neighbors and friends have been wonderful. Thomas just took over all the pet chores that are normally mine.

We'll take all the prayers we can get. We want to storm heaven on Jane's behalf.

UPDATE: June 17, 8:25 PM: Nursing staff took Jane off the ventilator. She's still unconscious, but now she's back to breathing on her own, without the help of a machine! Thank you for those prayers! Keep 'em coming!

Praying for the wisdom of the medical team, for your peace during this trial, and for quick and complete healing for Jane. Lord, hear our prayer.

May the healing touch of God embrace and comfort you all.

Thanks be to God for the gifts of wisdom and dedication granted to those in the medical profession. Throughout their careers, they sacrifice much in order to be there in our hour of need!

Praying, praying, praying.

You tell Jane she needs to get a-head! Maybe that will cheer her up; kids love that kind of stuff. It might help.

May Blessed John Licci and all the holy physicians pray for Jane and for your whole family, in the name of our Good Physician, Jesus Christ.

May God restore Jane's body to His perfect design, healing all tissues, nerves, vessels, bones. May He reduce the swelling back down to normal, and take away the pain. We praise You, Lord, that Jane's spine is doing well - what a blessing! Please heal both Patrick and Jane and provide for their needs, Father. And let them see You shine and meet them in this time. Thank you that they have You in their sights, Father, and build on their faith. In the name of Your Son Jesus, I pray.

I join in agreement with all the prayers for complete healing and restoration.

May the Lord be glorified and praised for His wonderful work in Jane's behalf. May His near Presence make this time beautiful and holy. Fill the room with Thy Holy Peace. May all hands and minds who care for Jane be anointed, guided and inspired by Thee. Give them alertness, wisdom, healing, love, kindness, gentleness and respect.

Please place angels around her to guard and keep her.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Learn all you can about head trauma and ask as many questions you can think of. Anything you notice, even if it's some little thing that you think might not be related to the head trauma, bring it to the dr's attention.

My husband suffered mild traumatic brain injury when he was struck by a truck in Dec 2007 (he was walking across a street), and we are still dealing with the long-term effects. Stuff you think is no big deal can turn out to be significant, so stay on it.

Praying for Jane and for all the rest of you.

Joining my poor prayers to those of others for Jane's full and complete recovery, sweet and easy sleep for you, and all of God's richest blessings for your entire family.

We have been in the hospital waiting for our children to recover from the trauma of a car accident- our now 10 year old son needed surgery and repairs to torn organs three years ago. There was more, but that is all I have ever been able to blog about. I still have nightmares and flashbacks.

My heart aches for you.
