No, they are not rotten kids

I thought J.K. Rowling needed defending from people who call Harry Potter and his friends rotten kids.

A laptop computer keyboard seemed a better defensive choice than a wand.

UPDATE: Thanks to friend Bookworm for the kind words and the link.

The kids in the Harry Potter series are delightful except when they start screaming each other as a plot feature. And the one plot is endlessly recycled: he-who-must-not-be-named is back. Again. And again. And again. Yawn.

The characters are delightful and to my happy surprise, they grow throughout the books.

He who must not be named IS back. In reality, he never leaves...we call him by many names...Satan, Lucifer, the Legion. But then if one doesn't believe in spiritual warfare, reading about and/or watching (the read is far richer)good people whether witch, wizard or muggle, battle the ever present evil tugging at them and their universe for power would make one yawn.

Patrick, almost forgot!

Logical, concise and well written (as always)defense.

I apologize; I didn't mean to be anonymous in the first response.

I know all about Voldemort. Voldemort was a friend of mine. I used to date Voldemort. Chris, you are no Voldemort! :)

Lovely article, Patrick, and completely consistent with my long-time thinking on the same subject. http://www.americanthinker.com/2006/05/harry_potter_and_the_war_on_te.html. I linked. http://www.bookwormroom.com/2009/07/29/recognizing-the-inherent-conservatism-in-the-harry-potter-books/
